Description
Overview
The Guardian “Heavy Duty Edge Series Retractable SRL” is designed to be used specifically for leading Edge work. With an integrated shock pack attached to the cable lifeline, the retractable will keep the arresting forces on the cable lifeline itself. The ideal position of a retractable, when used as a part of PFAS, is directly overhead. Often, contractors will place a retractable on the deck and use it at foot level. Almost all retractables on the market are not allowed to be used in this manner if the worker is exposed to a leading edge hazard. This product includes an integrated shock pack to help reduce the impact forces of the cable as it comes into contact with a leading edge. The retractable protective boot cover is made of lightweight pliable neoprene and is designed to prolong the life of your product. This device helps to protect the braking mechanisms when retractables are dropped or tossed onto the ground. Fasteners and adhesive tape help keep the protective boot in place in harsh and abusive environments.

Removal of Recertification
Guardian Fall Protection customers,
As a result of Guardian’s continued manufacturing success with our Retractable Lifeline Division, Guardian is proud to announce that we will no longer require a mandatory two year recertification on any SRL manufactured after October 1st, 2009.
Consult all local applicable standards for fall protection equipment. As a general guideline, OSHA and ANSI do not require a mandatory recertification frequency. Guardian’s Policy requires that the unit shall be inspected before each use and at least once annually by a competent person. If this unit fails inspection then the SRL shall be sent to an authorized service center for inspection/maintenance.
Ed Marquardt,
Guardian Fall Protection
